RyansWorld: Video Arcade

From Future

Jump to: navigation, search

The video arcades of the year 2047 will be different than their ancestors in the year 1997. Instead of violent video games, there will be educational toys, educational toy robots, a few computers connected to a multiplayer game (most likely educational and/or non-violent - probably sports games), and strict security using omnipresent cameras. The rooms of these futuristic video arcades would be psychedelic in black and white colors (to appease the eyes). Due to the backlash against urban video arcades in the early 2000s (primarily blamed due to to their adult nature), these cameras were necessary to spot people doing inappropriate things at the video arcade. Also, it is assumed that crime will decrease greatly because the Singularity will increase people's intelligence, giving them a greater sense of what's right (legal) and what's wrong (illegal).

One example of educational toys include baby dolls that say "Daddy" as well as baby dolls that say "Mommy." When used in this non-sexist manner, baby dolls can even teach the most reluctant young male citizen to be an excellent father and builds on his basic skills that he will need as a househusband in the future. Another example of educational toys at the arcade include shiny balls that asks children questions that need to be answered verbally, shiny balls that reveal holographic documentaries, and a robot best friend that share the same interests as the person that it comes in contact with. Instead of being located in tourist areas or in the "shady" parts of a metropolitian city, these video arcades will be located in the basement of government-run day care services for young children, youth, and teenagers.

In the future, they will need more adult supervision (in order to prevent them from falling under peer pressure or starting crimes) but the freedom to have romantic relationships with significant others. Also, as cities grow bigger, the streets get more dangerous (and the only alternative is to lock these children in their houses and apartment buildings and force them to be lazy all day and not have a social life). Music will play at these video arcades of the future (with the most popular song being "Where Do I Begin" by the Chemical Brothers).
